The hotel, which opened in its modern incarnation in summer 2012, was originally built as a boutique hotel, called The Norfolk Hotel, with only 80 rooms, each of which had different fittings and furniture. The hotel was comfortable and luxurious and was set apart by its character and distinction. At The Ampersand Hotel, we take our responsibilities to the planet seriously. We are running on 100 per cent renewable electricity, sourced from wind, solar and biomass generators.
