    The Ampersand Hotel’s unique concept is inspired by the capital’s world-famous museum district and the iconic ampersand symbol, which illustrates the hotel’s role in connecting its guests to the best of South Kensington. From the interior design to the collections and curiosities, The Ampersand Hotel unites guests with the local surrounding area through the five themes of botany, music, geometry, ornithology and astronomy. The hotel, which opened in its modern incarnation in summer 2012, was originally built as a boutique hotel, called The Norfolk Hotel, with only 80 rooms, each of which had different fittings and furniture. The hotel was comfortable and luxurious and was set apart by its character and distinction. At The Ampersand Hotel, we take our responsibilities to the planet seriously. We are running on 100 per cent renewable electricity, sourced from wind, solar and biomass generators.

    Leadenhall is a decedent Bar, Club & Restaurant that once housed the iconic Midland Bank built by Sir Edward Lutyens. The Main Bar has fixed raised booths opposite a 60ft length bar with 2 giant projector screens that are suspended from the walls at either end The Vault is a stunning private event space in the heart of the venue, the room is built around the original strong room of the old Midland Bank making it a truly unique location in which to host memorable events with a twist. The Basement Bar has its own private entrance that leads guest below ground to its 2 private bars, dedicated dance floor, DJ Booth & private seated booths.

    Gymkhana is inspired by Colonial Indian gymkhana clubs, set up by the British Raj, where members of high society came to socialize, dine, drink and play sport. Gymkhana offers two private dining vaults secluded on either side of the lower ground floor, each offering a range of set menus or a selection of menu items allowing guests to create their own bespoke menu and wine pairing. With banquette seating in each vault, guests can dine in groups of up to nine or up to fourteen. Gymkhana is also available for exclusive hire on each level seating 50 guests on the ground floor and 50 guests on the lower ground floor. Alternatively we offer exclusive hire of the entire restaurant, with seating or standing room for up to 90 guests, creating a bespoke atmosphere and menu to suit any special occasion.
