Once a regular haunt for the Duke of Wellington, 116 Pall Mall is now the Regency home of the Institute of Directors. A grand staircase – with viewing balcony – leads into five floors of versatile function rooms: look out for the dual-aspect Waterloo room’s gold-leaf-on-linen wallpaper. The IoD Academy, a newly launched training facility, suits business-first events. The Wine Bar, in the original vaulted cellars, is the place to unwind. 116 Pall Mall also plays host to hundreds of corporate occasions, private events, festive celebrations and weddings every year, bringing a sense of occasion to even the most intimate gatherings. Situated on the borders of Blackheath and Greenwich Park, Ranger’s House is an elegant early Georgian villa with graceful panelled interiors. It was built around 1700 as the official residence of the Ranger of Greenwich and is now home to the Wernher Collection, an impressive display of silver, jewels, paintings and porcelain purchased by the diamond magnate Sir Julius Wernher. The highlight is the jewel vault which holds more than 100 Renaissance pieces, each exquisitely enamelled and studded with gems and represents one of the finest jewellery collections in Europe. With sumptuous interiors, Ranger’s House is a stylish and memorable setting for special events and will be available for drinks receptions and dinners from Spring 2006. A licence to also hold civil wedding ceremonies has now been granted.

Set in delightful wooded parkland with views towards the River Thames, Marble Hill House is an elegant venue for special events. It was built in the 1720’s for Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk and mistress of George II and became one of the most fashionable residences of the period, where artists, authors, poets and politicians of the day frequently gathered. Today, the House retains its peaceful setting, tasteful interiors and a superb collection of paintings. It is one of the 'newest' properties available for hire and has only been available for civil wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions since September 2005.
